Working Together

RAID
Davy Jones Explorers is a RAID Dive Center that is qualified to teach Recreational Scuba Diving from Try Scuba experience all the way through Instructor training, both for Open Water divers and adaptive divers and their buddies. With more than 70% of our beautiful blue planet’s surface being water, you’ll need a special ‘passport’ to explore it safely. The world’s number one ‘passport’ is either the RAID Scuba Diver or Open Water Diver certification. For persons with disabilities, Davy Jones Explorers and RAID make this possible with the RAIDaptive Open Water Diver and RAIDaptive Buddy certifications. Buccaneer Barb and Swashbuckling Sophie were instrumental in developing the RAIDaptive program for RAID.
The world’s oceans and waterways offer everything from calm, slow and peaceful dives to adrenaline filled, intense experiences, and all that is waiting for you.

Dive Pirates Foundation
Davy Jones Explorers is a chapter of The Dive Pirates Foundation, a 5.01(c)3 organization that is dedicated to bringing scuba diving to persons with mobility disabilities. What began in 2003 as a social club for divers is now a non-profit foundation that teaches, equips and takes disabled people on life changing scuba diving adventures.
While the program is open to all medically qualified physically disabled people, Dive Pirates focuses on disabled military, law enforcement and first responder veterans who have sustained injuries in the line of duty. Some of these men and women have lost a part of their youth in combat; we aim to help restore a sense of adventure, community and hope for these wounded warriors.
in 2025, Davy Jones Explorers was named “Chapter of the Year” for its contribution in training recipients for the annual dive event in Cayman Brac at the Cayman Brac Beach Resort in June 2024.
